Watch out, Tiger! ‘Today’ tech editor Paul Hochman presents the latest golf clubs,
gadgets and technology to help anyone play like a pro
With this weather, golfers can't wait to hit the course! More than 27 million people played at least one round of golf last year, and while we'd all like to be as good as Michelle Wie or Tiger Woods (but just aren't), it doesn't mean we can't load up on the latest gadgets or tricks to help improve our game. Paul Hochman, “Today” tech editor and Men's Journal contributor, shares some great gear to help shape up your scores this summer.
RadarGolf
This incredibly cool golf ball technology solves the number one problem of all average golfers (and many, many expert ones) — lost golf balls. As you probably know, if you lose a ball in the woods or in the deep rough, you have to “take a drop,” meaning you take out a new ball, take a one-stroke penalty and hit the new ball from wherever you think is closest to where the old ball got lost. Plus, you've just wasted maybe 10 minutes looking for the ball in the first place (a cardinal sin among decent golfers, who just want to move on). The guys at RadarGolf have figured out a way to put a pinhead-sized microchip in top-quality golf balls so that their hand-held device can find any lost ball in the woods using a radio signal. $249.95, www.radargolf.com
